Turtle Beach, Hikkaduwa

📍 Sri Lanka | 🗓 High Season | 📅 10.12.2015 — 21.12.2015
Central beach of Hikkaduwa. This has its pros and cons. First, about the disadvantages, there are a lot of people, and I’m talking about the locals, especially on weekends and holidays. The four packers lie on trestle beds in their territory. But what pleases is the palm trees, which create numerous shadows. And here again about the bad - these are sand bugs, they love the shade and your blood (maybe this is only in April). Loud music from locals, but this may be a plus for anyone. Before lunch there are crowds of excursions to large turtles (on the plus side, for them for money, for you for free :-). On the good side, excellent entry into the water, pleasant sand, quiet backwater. The waves crash on the reef, where you can go snorkeling. We rented a traditional boat for 15 bucks (and the rental price on the beach itself is the lowest, where the boats on the right charge up to 30 bucks). Coconuts are distributed in 150-200 batches. Don't take it, it's 100 by the road. There are many restaurants in the area where you can take a break from the midges :-). In the evening there are beautiful sunsets, especially good against the background of clouds, but it depends on your luck :-)
