Peristeras Beach is a piece of Sri Lanka. Awesome waves that pull you in and spin you around like a straw. Wide beach with free sun loungers and umbrellas, bars and restaurants nearby. The atmosphere is super.

I would call Lake Kournas a pensioner's lake. Everything is so quiet, measured, catamarans, geese-swans, turtles... This is a lyrical digression, but of course you need to go to the lake in the evening after a hot day to relax (pump your legs on the exercise bike :-), scare the turtles and fish (there really are if you look carefully). Relaxing on the beach... is a dubious pleasure - we have these backwaters a dime a dozen :-), but in combination with relaxation on the nearest beach with waves - even very, very good.
